Privacy Policy (Steve has read this. He found it acceptable.)

This site is run by Paul Murphy, a retired Welsh Expat, living in the Italian Alps. It is not run by a corporation, a marketing department, or a fictional doctor with a suspiciously convenient backstory.

Here's what happens when you visit Just Rodents.

If you just read things

The server logs your visit. This is standard practice for every website you've ever visited. It records your IP address, which page you looked at, and when. Magicpages, the hosting company, holds these logs. They're an Austrian company with servers in Germany and they take GDPR compliance seriously, which is more than can be said for most of the operations covered on this site.

The built-in analytics tell me how many people visited, which posts they read, and roughly where they came from. No cookies. No tracking scripts. No profile built on your browsing habits. Just numbers.

If you subscribe by email

I store your email address. I use it to send you new posts. That's it.

I don't sell it. I don't share it. I don't hand it to third parties with interesting business propositions. If you want to be removed, click unsubscribe at the bottom of any email and you're gone. If you want me to confirm your data has been deleted, email me and I'll confirm it.

If you use the contact form, your name, email address, and message are collected and sent to me via Tally. Tally's privacy policy can be found at tally.so. I don't store your details beyond what arrives in my inbox.
